Selphyl – (FDA approved)

Selphyl is one of several available systems available for the isolation of platelet- rich plasma (PRP) for clinical use. Following activation by either thrombin or calcium chloride, PRP forms a gel-like material, sometimes called a “fibrin matrix” which can then be injected back into the patient. Selphyl is marketed as a blood collection and processing device that provides a simple reproducible method for obtaining a platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRPM).
